Edition #2 Rocky II
Rocky II, the rematch. Apollo changes his mind seconds after the fight to demand a rematch, right before he said there wasn't going to be another one. Contrary to popular belief of how the internet has destroyed great conversation, Apollo Creed is hit with hate mail from thousands. There's a much better story than the original. Rocky's no longer a character that your forced to like, he actually does stuff this time. It seems throughout this collection, the original Rocky is the only disc with special features, which is a shame. I would have liked to have seen some special features from the other films, especially part 3.

Into the Blu 4K Edition #1
After owning a little over 930 DVD titles I thought it was time to start my transition to Blu rays and 4K UltraHD home videos. Streaming sucks, so I'm sticking with the physical.
My first edition is the 40th Anniversary Rocky The HeavyWeight Collection, from Rocky through Rocky Balboa. This Blu Ray collection comes packaged 6 artful character cards, with 6 disc in one. It's rare now a days to find a great disc cover, but the Rocky collection had a lot of care put into it, making it a keeper.
The picture is so beautiful. It was like watching Rocky for the first time. However, Rocky has become so clear to a fault, specifically the final fight scene. In most scenes of the fight, the crowd goes into complete darkness, showing the film's obvious low budget. To be honest, I never really cared for the original Rocky. At least in the first Rocky, this character is the sappiest character in film history. His 'poor me' underdog persona is frustrating to watch. Inspired by the boxer Chuck Wepner, who knocked down a past prime stage, Muhammed Ali. All he wanted to do was go the distance. Step in the ring and tell the champ he almost beat him. Get the girl and be some type of hero. A real Cinderella story. Unfortunately for Rocky, Cinderella is a fairy tale and Rocky is predominately base around realism. All this underdog and going the distance messages in the movie are overblown, practically getting on their knees begging for that Oscar that should have went to a superior picture. If I would do anything to make this movie better:
Rocky : Hey, Apollo I almost had you.
Apollo:You almost had me. You never had me. You never had your punches.
Crowd:Ohhhhhh!
Apollo: Grandpa stance. Yelling for your girlfriend before even listening for the results. Almost had me? (He says to overacting extra.) Ask any boxer. Any real boxer. It don't matter if you win in the 3rd or 15th round. It doesn't matter if you win by the skin of your teeth. Winnings, Winning. So, take your little participation trophy girlfriend as the final shot.

Just Jump
Have you ever got a sense that this it? No matter where you are life, rich, poor, or somewhere in the middle, if your minimalist or someone with high expectation, do you still feel like nothing on this earth can satisfy? Has the hopelessness set in. I don't usually like to say this kind of stuff because it makes me sound mystical, but during my senior year of high school, I was getting this vision, seeing the rewards of my consistent decent behavior being expressed by the white picket fence, wife and kids. For some that would bring feelings of happiness, only a rhetorical question came in my head, 'Is this it?'. Yes. There is nothing fresh down here and everything path life can take is a cliché. So, no thanks, I think I'll have the check now. Biggest Middle Finger to life to offing yourself before it offs you. Who's ever listening to this and has that sense and has had it for a long time, may I reintroduce to you a beautiful step you can take?
Great thanks. Drop down to your knees and give God all the praise. That rare sense of hopelessness is God's merciful gift to you. You see things that the blind optimist refuse to see. You see the gloom and doom of this life and you don't look away. My friend embrace that by giving your life to Christ, because the life He's offered you has no ceilings and it doesn't tolerate minimalist. Jesus abounds all expectations. He looks at our wants and needs and says 'is that it' , 'I can give you so much more'. You and people like us were already born with the confidence of The World Is Not Enough, we just have to take the pain and hopelessness in us and give it to Jesus. Accept him like you are now in your despair state and won't have worry about the need of enslaving yourself to all of this foolish, nonsensical self-help motivation speaking crap. Our angst are just to great for that, that we will crush under the weight of that false mindset. Free yourself of the falseness these people speak over a video just for a pat on the positivity back. They don't know or care about your hurt that is going inside you. At the end of the day, all those people have today are poster board slogans, 'get over it', 'eat better foods', 'seek therapy', 'this is not the end'--your right that's why we're ending it to get to the end. These empty words from these unemphatically vultures don't care about whether you end your life or not. They'll say oh no. Do a hashtag of suicide sucks. Give out a phone number to talk you out of something you believe has to be done. Then after a week, they'll go back to eating their fruit loops. The only person who truly fully knows what you are going through his Jesus Christ. He endured all that pain and horrors, because He is perfect.
Ultimately, what you do with your life is your choice and don't let anybody else take that away from you. But before you take those pills, slit the wrist, step in front of that bus that happens to be on time all of sudden, give yourself few seconds with Jesus. Trust me it will be enough for him.

Film:The Gym of Empathy and Patience
If you would question anyone on the meaning of patience, you would probably get something similar to sitting through the end credits of an MCU film, waiting on the stinger. Self-help has become the new empathy, where I'm willing to be happy for you but get thee behind me if your expressing any type of hurt that will negate my aura of positivity; disavow immediately for any heartfelt tear-jerking expressions of the gloomy human experience. You can't grow in empathy by reading body language and delivering cheap empty slogans that only have place on a high school poster. Even if empathy and patience are a natural gift, they must both still be exercised in order to burn the fat that will diminish it; they both must be tightened, strengthened, and toned. Without conditioning, you will have cultivated an bloated, distorted form of that gift, forged into something all too cliché; Netflix is just be another treadmill to hang miscellaneous objects on.
You need a gym with a vast amount of core working tools, Film: gym of empathy and patience. Not just any film will to the job. You need distinct perspectives that cover over all genres and subgenres, nationwide and worldwide. Give the self-indulging mainstream a rest for a few. Body language is all about making the viewer look smart, while empathy is looking into another person's eyes and feeling their souls pierce your own heart. You laugh and cry with them. There is laughing in mainstream but while your laughing without gains, studio execs are laughing their way to bank for selling you soulless, colorful images. Just take some time to embrace someone's perspective without cementing haste, judgmental thoughts in the first ten minutes of the film. This world is a swap meat for people that sell off their answers to questions no one is asking. They invite you lifestyle where nothing feels fresh. These types of films are not above the surface; your going to have to submerge yourself.

The Decade in a Nutshell
Heading down the treacherous forest of good and evil, we come across some stinkers, heroes and plain ole dullness through this journey. First stop we see the greatest action film of the decade in The Raid along with it's sequel. Then we hit the second civil war in Predators. Inception shows that Freddy isn't the only one who can enter your dreams. Outrage comes as the most underrated trilogy of the decade. After a back and forth with family and derivative action movies in the early 2000s, the Rock is finally enthroned as a king of action. Danny Trejo kills and Kills Again. We see the full toll of what it takes to wear the mantle of the Bat in Dark Knight Rises and just what it did to Ben Affleck's actual life. Ghostface returns. Ryan Gosling Drives. Tom Cruise resurgence and becomes master of stunts. Liam Neeson takes on all comers including wolves. Marvel becomes a Goldmine. The Expendable kicks ass and takes names. I saw The Devil shows how vengeance is really done. A Ceasar reclaims power. Bullhead for best foreign film. Hannibal Lector takes on demon possessions. Here comes Blumhouse Horror: Insidious, The Conjuring, The Nun, Annabelle. X-men and Wolverine continue their ups and down until Deadpool and Logan save the day. Fast and Furious goes big. Xander Cage is resurrected. Prometheus returns Aliens to glory. Bond, James Bond lives on. Jamie Foxx faces slave owners. Welcome to the Punch a must see cool action flick. Place Beyond the Pines show Legacy. Mike Banning becomes the terrorist killer. Mad Max Fury Road is too crazy for Mel Gibson. Jurassic Park finally becomes cool. Spotlight on the rapy priest. Terminator never dies. Benicio Del Toro is the best Sicario of the decade. The Revenant is Leo's time. The King of Monsters returns. Martin scores big in Wolf of Wall Street. Don't mess with the Gone Girl. John Wick Phenomenon begins. Nightcrawlers go the distance. Don't read the Baba..dook...dook...dook. It's Follows you. Cloverfield becomes more. The Green Room plays rough. Beauty is flesh in The Neon Demon. Don't Breathe when robbingt the blind. Rogue One, the last hope of Star Wars. The Founder rips off the founders. Get Out, the worse coming soon. Katniss becomes Mother! They all float down here. Dekker returns. Robert Pattinson has a Good Time. There's Hostiles everywhere. The best Game Night ever. A Quiet Place makes a lot of noise. Family dramas, rituals, and cults make a delicious meal in Hereditary and Midsommar. Nic Cage?!?!?!?! Upgrade is not the better venom film, it's just a far superior film. Crazy Rich Asians delights. Searching for your daughter brings dangerous results. Birds of Passage, so there are still good gangster movies being made. Don't mess with the Dogman. I am a Believer of the 2010s. Vice brings dark into the light. Am I still me or a tethered. I'll ask Ma. Ready or Not here comes a sacrifice. It's two against the world in Queen & Slim. But why so serious? Take a nap and call Doctor Sleep.
Ohhhh Noooooo!!! I've slept too long and gone into the Further, where all the evil trash dwells. Slowly, slowly I'll traverse this wicked place. Ah, The Great Gatsby, the first movie that bored me to sleep. Zero Dark Dullness. The Lone Ranger dies. Creed is just an excuse for more Rocky. Taken 3 takes it's last breath. BrightBurn is all flavor without texture. Hawkeye fails to live up to Bourne. Spider-man runs out of ideas. Halloween becomes the Laugh Factory. Brad Pitt and zombies do not go well together. I want to remember how bad Fantastic Four was but Antman keeps coming up. There is no Independence Day without Will Smith. Kong is no King. Eventually, like all cycles, the MCU enters the stage of mediocrity money grabbers.
Woooo!! Made it out. I saw a path that lead to Once Upon a time...…. but I believe in using time than wasting it. I'm home and rested. Ready for 2020. There's a Japanese ghost with a grudge at my door. So long.
